Frequently asked questions
What people ask us most about the system, its installation and the company. If your question isn't here, write to us.
System
What does XRack measure?
The deformation of pallet racking uprights, continuously. From that signal the system detects impacts and overloads and classifies each event as elastic or plastic.
What is the difference between elastic and plastic deformation?
With elastic deformation the upright returns to its shape once the load is gone and no permanent damage remains. With plastic deformation the steel stays permanently deformed and the upright's capacity may be compromised.
Does it replace periodic inspections?
No. Periodic inspections by competent people are still needed. XRack adds continuous data between inspections and helps decide where to look first.
What is a flexible-electronics sensor?
It's a thin, flexible strip with detection bands fitted on the inner face of the upright. It deforms with the steel and its electronics only alert when the deformation is real.
Installation
Can it be installed on racking that is already in use?
Yes, the system is designed to be installed on existing racking. Before each installation we study the warehouse layout.
Do all uprights need a sensor?
Not necessarily. The usual approach is to start with the most exposed uprights, such as aisle ends and manoeuvring areas, and extend later.
Does it disrupt warehouse operations?
Installation is planned with each customer to keep interference with daily activity to a minimum.
Data and alerts
How do alerts arrive?
Each alert appears in the software with the location of the affected upright and is sent through the channels agreed with each customer, such as email.
What about knocks that leave no damage?
They are logged as elastic events in the upright's history, without triggering alarms. That shows where impacts concentrate even when they cause no permanent damage.
Can I see an upright's history?
Yes. The software keeps every upright's events, so inspections and repairs can be planned on data.
Company
Who is behind XRack?
XRACK TECHNOLOGIES, S.L., a company incorporated in 2026 within the TheNextPangea ecosystem.
Where is the company based?
Our registered office is at Calle Estibadores, 6 (Edificio Pharo), in Avilés (Asturias, Spain).
Do you measure anything other than deformation?
Yes. The same technology can measure pressure, temperature, gas and humidity in other sectors.
How can I request a demo?
Through the “Request a demo” page: tell us about your warehouse and we'll show you the system remotely or on site. You can also write to contact@xrack.es.
